Behaviour Policy for Early Years (2025)

Behaviour Policy – A policy to be used in Early Years detailing how you will deal with behaviour and your philosophy on behaviour management. This is editable for your school or setting.
At Early Years Staffroom, we believe that positive behaviour develops in a nurturing, respectful, and consistent environment. Our Behaviour Policy supports children in learning how to express themselves, build relationships, and develop self-regulation skills in a way that is age-appropriate and emotionally supportive.
We promote kindness, empathy, and cooperation through:
-
Clear and consistent expectations
-
Positive reinforcement and role modelling
-
Supportive strategies to guide behaviour
-
A calm, safe atmosphere where every child feels valued
We understand that all behaviour is a form of communication. Our approach is rooted in understanding the individual needs of each child, including their developmental stage and emotional wellbeing. We work closely with families to ensure continuity and support for children as they grow and learn.
Our goal is to help every child develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of right and wrong, building the foundations for positive behaviour throughout life.
