This Medium Term Plan outlines the purposeful use of the Reception outdoor area during the Summer Term, with a focus on supporting children’s holistic development through play-based, hands-on learning experiences. As the weather transitions, the environment becomes a dynamic learning space that encourages exploration, physical activity, and independent learning.
Overview:
During the Spring Term, the outdoor provision is designed to enhance learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, particularly promoting:
- Water/Sand
- Large Construction and Gross Motor
- Open Ended Resources and Loose Parts
- Mud Kitchen
- Creative Area
The plan ensures that the environment remains stimulating and adaptable. It integrates adult-led and child-initiated activities, ensuring children are supported while also developing independence.
